Costco Shoppers Are Making Bold Claims About Their New Lemon Meringue Cheesecake
With their track record of decadence, we shouldn't be surprised that Costco's newest bakery item combines two of our favorite desserts, but we are still impressed! Costco's new Lemon Meringue Cheesecake pairs cheesecake with lemon curd and the fluffy meringue that normally sits atop Lemon Meringue Pie.
Laura of @costcohotfinds was one of the first to try the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake, and her husband has proclaimed the cheesecake "the best one yet."
"This morning, for the first time ever, the Costco bakery brought out a Lemon Meringue Cheesecake and my husband's reaction was 'This may be the best one yet.' And I agree," she revealed. "It's sweet, savory, and tart. The bakery killed it with the meringue. It was perfect. This was nearly four pounds and it was $19.99."
The Lemon Meringue Cheesecake also received plenty of praise in the comments section of @costcohotfinds' Instagram post. One user even shared a unique story on how they fell in love with a slice of the cheesecake years ago.
"I used to work for the firm that designs all Costco’s and one of the senior associates would bring random things from Costco when he went on site visits. Well one year they had this cheesecake and it was AMAZING. The entire office kept requesting it again but it was discontinued. The senior associate asked the Costco bakery VP if they could bring it back and he said no. I’ve been waiting YEARS for this cheesecake!" they wrote.
Others have commended Costco while also questioning the store's intentions on single-handedly ruining their summer bodies.
