Pepsi is adding a creamy, fruity flavor to the soda aisle.

The soda brand is releasing a brand-new flavor: Pepsi Wild Cherry & Cream. The new beverage will be available in regular and zero-sugar varieties starting Jan. 20.

A press release describes the new flavor as having an “initial burst of sweet Pepsi cherry flavor…followed by a smooth, creamy vanilla swirl.” The combination of flavors should make for a “silky mouthfeel,” per the release.

The latest permanent Pepsi drinks come just months after Coca-Cola discontinued its cherry vanilla flavor on Sept. 4. The drink company posted the announcement on X that they discontinued Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla “due to consumers' taste preferences and lifestyles constantly changing.” They also discontinued Diet Coke with Splenda in September.

Creamy fizzy drinks have become all the rage in the last several years. Dirty soda, a blend of pop, coffee creamer and flavored syrups, blew up on TikTok back in 2022. The social media buzz brought attention to the mocktail-esque drinks that are particularly popular in Utah, where the state’s large Mormon population opts for making the sweet sips at home or visiting Swig dirty soda shops.

Other brands have dropped their own twists on dirty soda, like Dr. Pepper’s Creamy Coconut flavor that they released in May.

Pepsi popped open a new flavor last month, too. The company released Pepsi Zero Sugar Gingerbread Mini Cans for a limited time ahead of Christmas. Shaquille O’Neal helped to announce the festive limited-edition cans — their first all-new holiday-themed flavor in years.

Pepsi Zero Sugar Gingerbread Mini Cans were available on Pepsi's official TikTok Shop and Pepsi’s official site through Dec. 11.
