Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving following an incident that took place in March this year. The 29-year-old was reportedly driving a Mercedes vehicle along a residential street at night before allegedly losing control, hitting the curb, a fire hydrant, and then crashing into the side of a house. His girlfriend, actor Chase Sui Wonders was also present in the passenger seat at the time of the accident.

Following the collision - in which luckily no one was harmed - a spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed that Davidson must complete an "8-month diversion plan" as an alternative to prosecution. This consists of 12 hours of traffic school and 50 hours of community service, all of which he can fulfil in his home state of New York.

It's also been reported by NBC that on the night of the crash, police ruled out the use of drugs or alcohol. They then added that Davidson waited for authorities to arrive and was respectful and cooperative.

The outlet's report also revealed that police viewed surveillance footage of the accident and determined that speed was a major factor.

"We believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home. Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision" the DA said.

Just last month, TODAY also confirmed that Davidson had checked himself into rehab. As of now, the actor's reasoning is unclear.
