Peter Phillips Shares How King Charles is Reacting to Cancer Treatment

After Buckingham Palace announced King Charles's cancer diagnosis in February, the King stepped back from public duties as he receives treatment.

Now, his nephew Peter Phillips (the son of Princess Anne), has revealed that Charles has been "hugely frustrated" in recent weeks.

In an interview with Sky News Australia, Phillips said that the King is in "good spirits," but "ultimately, he's hugely frustrated. He's frustrated that he can't get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he is very pragmatic, he understands that there's a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself."

He continued, "But at the same time, he is always pushing, his staff and everybody and his doctors and nurses to be able to say, 'Actually, can I do this? Can I do that?' So the overriding message would be that he's obviously very keen to get back to a form of normality. And he's probably frustrated that, recovery is taking a little longer than probably he would want it to."

Phillips's update on Charles comes on the heels of Kate Middleton's announcement that she has cancer. In a video messaged released on Friday, the Princess of Wales said, "It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful."

After she shared her diagnosis, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said King Charles is "so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did," adding Charles and Camilla"will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family throughout this difficult time."
