  • For her workouts, Jessica loves doing yoga and Isaac Boots’ Torch’d workouts.

If there's anyone who knows how to make the hustle and bustle of the busiest city in America stop right in its tracks, its Jessica Chastain.

The actress totally rocked the streets of New York City this week when she stepped out in fishnets, a green minidress, and heels before her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The 45-year-old's 'fit accentuated just how strong she is from head to toe, but her toned legs took center stage.

It's no surprise that Jessica is so toned, because her workout routine is pretty intense. But before I dive into all of that, I'm here with some evidence that Jessica's legs are super strong, and she knows it:

The Scenes from a Marriage actress likes to work out for her mental health as much as for her physical strength, which I love to see. “Working out gives me confidence,” she told Shape in 2021. “The starting point of exercise is always difficult for me—finding the time and quiet space and feeling that I've got a million other things I need to do. But once I finish, I immediately feel like a superhero.”

Her workout schedule varies depending on what her work looks like at that time. When she was quarantining during the pandemic, she’d do Isaac Boots’ Torch’d workouts with her 80-year old grandmother, she told the outlet. But while Jessica was in rehearsals in New York during her interview, she said she would also add online power yoga into her Isaac Boots workout rotations at least twice a week to “clear” her head.

When it comes to fueling up for those workouts, it's key to note that Jessica has been a vegan for 14 years and is “into food as medicine,” she told the outlet.

Before Jessica went vegan, she “was very low energy, and I remember getting sick,” she said. “I was making one of my first films, in which I had to play different ages of the character's life, and I wanted to change my body accordingly. So I would gain weight and then lose it really quickly. After that, my body was wrecked.”

Jessica tried going vegan for two weeks and absolutely hated it, but in the end, learned that it was what was best for her body, because it helped to up her energy levels. She also loves to cook, making soups and stews, and she drank a lot of licorice root tea during the pandemic because licorice is great for your immune system. Ya learn something new everyday, right?

For meals, it looks like she welcomes any and all types of (vegan) foods. In 2020, she explored her love of plant-based meat for National Cheeseburger Day on Instagram, and vegan banana pancakes, which she posted her recipe for on the 'gram back in 2018.

If I’ve learned anything from Jessica, it’s to figure out what your own body wants and also what it needs. Keep up the inspo, Jess!
