Education is clearly a major interest for the Middleton family. Not only has Kate made the cause for early childhood education one of her prime focuses since becoming the Duchess of Cambridge, her younger sister Pippa also has an eye on kids education, albeit from a slightly different angle. While Kate's attention has primarily been on educational and social development in the first five years of children's lives (she even launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood last summer), Pippa did her research for her masters degree from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David on physical literacy and strategies to encourage physical activity in kids at home.

Pippa, who will graduate this week with distinction from the Physical Education, Sport and Physical Literacy program, will be presenting her research this fall at the 4th CIAPSE Congress in Luxembourg in September. The study examined how the home environment and parents perspectives impacted the physical activity of pre-schoolers, highlighting factors that contribute to health-promoting strategies.

"I am passionate about sport and exercise and also love being with children." Pippa said in a statement. "I wanted to find a topic that combined these two and felt that there wasn’t enough information, knowledge or focus on early years physical development for mums particularly. I wanted to learn to not only help my own children but to also continue work in the field to stress the importance of children moving from an early age."

A well-known fitness fan, the strategies she's researched are sure to come in handy in her own home—she's currently expecting her third child with husband James Matthews.
