#DiaARMy: These plus-sized ladies are starting a bare arms movement on Instagram

Hot summer days conjures images of sleeveless sun dresses and airy tank tops for some, but for others, the heat means sweltering under cardigans and jean jackets.

Stylist and community manager of plus-sized styling company Dia&Co, Ashby Vose, is only too familiar with the problem.

The body positive brand, which offers a personal stylist service that sends clients packages of curated clothes in sizes 14 and up, gets plenty of requests from their plus-size clients for layers and jackets even in the summer.

“We hear a lot from our customers and our community about creative ways to hide their arms,” Vose tells Allure. “It got us chatting. We talked about our own experiences with our arms and our preferences for layering up even though it’s hot… We had to do something to liberate our community and that arms are not a source of shame.”

So to encourage women to stop hiding their arms, Dia & Co launched their #DiaARMy Instagram campaign, asking women to flaunt their biceps and triceps and embrace sleeveless styles. And the response is gorgeous! Check out the gallery above to see confident chicks killing it and let us know what you think by tweeting us @YahooStyleCA.

“I’m joining my friends at @diaandco #diaarmy because it’s too damn hot out here to be covering up my arms. You don’t like my big arms then that’s your problem.” (Photo: Instagram/plusjones)

“I’m showing off my arms as part of the @diaandco #DiaArmy! Tag your bestie and challenge them to fight the stigma and show their arms in the summer! It’s hot. Let’s wear what feels good to us & forget whatever judgment someone else might have! If you like it, wear it!” (Photo: Instagram/readytostare)
