Actress Emma Corrin is set to return to the period genre—and this time, they're bringing global superstar Harry Styles with them.

Here's what we know so far about My Policeman, described by Prime Video as "a visually transporting, heart-stopping portrait of three people caught up in the shifting tides of history, liberty, and forgiveness."

Emma Corrin, best known for their Golden Globe-winning turn as Princess Diana in The Crown, will play Marion, while multi-hyphenate talent Harry Styles will portray Marion's love interest, Tom, a closeted policeman.

Here's the official plot summary: "A beautifully crafted story of forbidden love and changing social conventions, My Policeman follows three young people—policeman Tom (Harry Styles), teacher Marion (Emma Corrin), and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson)– as they embark on an emotional journey in 1950s Britain. Flashing forward to the 1990s, Tom (Linus Roache), Marion (Gina McKee), and Patrick (Rupert Everett) are still reeling with longing and regret, but now they have one last chance to repair the damage of the past."

In mid-June, Prime released the first teaser trailer for the film (watch above), which features longing stares between the three leads, and ominous music crescendoing. In September, a month ahead of the premiere, a new trailer came out:

Emma and Harry were spotted filming in May 2021.

My Policeman filmed in Brighton, England in spring 2021. Corrin and Styles were photographed frolicking on the beach (with Styles in some quite short shorts) and getting close while filming. See some behind-the-scenes shots below.

An Oscar-nominated writer and Tony-winning director are attached.

Michael Grandage (Genius), a Tony and Olivier Award-winning director, helmed the film, while Oscar and Emmy-nominated writer Ron Nyswaner (Homeland, Philadelphia) penned the script.

Rehearsal, Grandage says, "was very, very easy, because all three of those younger actors are very open—they don’t make acting difficult and they don’t make the process of filmmaking difficult. They come open-minded, wanting to please each other. They were there for each other."

It's based on a novel by the same name.

My Policeman by Bethan Roberts follows a love triangle between three people in the 1950s (Marion, Tom, and Patrick), and is inspired by the relationship between E.M. Forster, Bob Buckingham, and his wife.

My Policeman premieres in theaters on October 21, 2022.

The film will make its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this September, and premiere in theaters the following month, on October 21, 2022.

My Policeman will then be available to stream on Prime Video starting November 4, 2022. That means that any Corrin or Styles fans champing at the bit to watch My Policeman will need an Amazon Prime subscription—or at least be in the midst of a free trial.
