A popular ice cream shop will return to downtown Fort Worth next year, not far from old spot
Melt Ice Creams will return to downtown Fort Worth in 2025, after closing a shop in the area earlier this year.
The artisan ice cream shop opened its first-ever location in 2014 in Fort Worth’s Near Southside. In the decade since, Melt has opened an additional location in Fort Worth, plus shops in Dallas and Willow Park.
Melt’s newest Fort Worth location will open in downtown early next year at 700 Main St.

Melt’s new shop will be just a few minutes from its previous Sundance Square location at 308 Houston St.
The Houston Street location closed in September 2024, after five years of operation. In the closing announcement, Melt hinted that another downtown location may be in the works.
“Though this location is closing, our other shops remain open and we’re excited to share upcoming developments in downtown Fort Worth,” Melt officials wrote in a Sept. 3 Facebook post.
Now nearly two months later, Melt is announcing its return to downtown Fort Worth.
“I am thrilled to bring Melt back to the downtown Fort Worth community!” Melt founder Kari Crowe-Seher said in a press release. “We’re super excited to be close to all of the action at the Fort Worth Convention Center and to be part of the downtown scene once again.”
Melt is know for its limited-batch, artisan ice creams.
A few flavors that are available year-round include cookie crush, salt lick, peanut butter explosion and more. The ice cream shop also offers seasonal flavors such as caramel apple cheesecake, maple bourbon pumpkin pie, cookie butter and dark chocolate tahini.
In total, Melt currently has four locations across North Texas:
Fort Worth- 1201 W. Magnolia Ave. suite 115
Fort Worth- 122 East Exchange Ave. suite 624
Dallas- 405 North Bishop Ave.
Willow Park- 460 Shops Blvd.
