DeGeneres and de Rossi in West Hollywood (Splash News)You know that old saying about how married couples start to look like one another after a while? Well, three years after saying "I do," Portia de Rossi is starting to look more like Ellen DeGeneres, thanks to a new haircut.

The star of TV's "Better of Ted" and "Arrested Development" was out with the talk show host in West Hollywood yesterday and showed off a new 'do. The 39-year-old Australian actress' short cut falls about an inch below her ears. Her bangs have now grown out and were swept to the side. As you can see in the photo, de Rossi's hair is dramatically shorter than before, but it's still longer than 54-year-old DeGeneres' who has long been a fan of the pixie cut.

Since de Rossi married DeGeneres, she's slowly started to look more like her partner, as couples often do. The transformation started in 2010 when she cut short-short bangs — a look popularized by supermodel Linda Evangelista. Both de Rossi and DeGeneres go to Los Angeles hairstylist Lea Journo, who gave de Rossi the bangs.

Throughout her career, de Rossi has become known for having long, glowing blonde locks. When she first burst onto the scene on "Ally McBeal," her character Nelle Porter would unpin her bun and shake out her long, beautiful hair for dramatic effect. In one memorable scene, Calista Flockhart's character watched as Nelle did the hair shake and snapped: "It's official. I hate her." De Rossi later became a celebrity spokesperson for Loreal, whipping her locks around in commercials for the beauty company.

Although America has always known de Rossi with long hair, during her early days of acting (she was an Australian soap opera star) she once chopped her mane to the nape of her neck. Talking hair with Glamour magazine years later, she said: "I loved it for about three days. Hair has a certain power I was not aware of."

Hmm… Wonder how long she'll like this new look.
