Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Took a Secret Vacation to Portugal
You know how every celebrity ever spent the summer vacationing in Europe without you and posting about it all over social media, causing the words "tomato girl summer" to become a full blown attack on your eyeballs? Well Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no exception, however instead of vacationing in the summer and making it literally everyone's business, they took a trip in the Fall and kept it completely under-the-radar.
According to a report from Nova Gente, via People, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Germany for the Invictus Games, and decided to make the most of being in Europe by taking a quick side trip to Portugal.
And apparently it's being speculated that the pair visited with Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, and their two children, August and Ernest—who split their time between Portugal and their home in England.
And the visit, while unexpected, makes total sense! Yes, Meghan and Harry are on the outs with King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton due to literal years of drama culminating in the publication of Harry's bombshell memoir Spare, but he's remained very close to both Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
In fact, a source told People that "They're still the best of friends and talk constantly," and that "This whole drama between him and Meghan and the rift with the rest of the family has been really stressful for the girls. It’s hard to watch because they see both sides of i." The source also noted that Eugenie and Beatrice "understand and live the royal machine."
Glad to hear Harry and Meghan got to spend time with some family, and that their trip remained a secret so they could enjoy it in peace!
