Prince Harry to Return to the UK Next Month

Prince Harry will be returning to the UK next month!

The Duke of Sussex will attend the annual WellChild Awards ceremony on September 7, the organization announced. He has been a patron of WellChild, a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of seriously ill children, for the past 15 years, and has attended the WellChild Awards 11 times. Last year, Prince Harry and Meghan were set to attend the event until Queen Elizabeth passed away.

According to WellChild, Harry "will spend time with each winner and their families at a pre-ceremony reception, listening to their stories and helping create lifelong memories." He will also present an award and deliver a speech.

"For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people across the UK, providing critical care that prioritizes the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of these individuals and their families," Prince Harry said in a statement. "The courage and strength embodied by these young people – and the tireless devotion of those who support them – never cease to inspire me. I’m honoured to attend this year’s awards ceremony and celebrate their incredible work."

After London, Prince Harry will head to Düsseldorf, Germany, where the annual Invictus Games are being held; the opening ceremonies take place on September 9. It's as yet unclear whether or not Meghan Markle will join him for WellChild and the start of the Invictus Games, but she will likely make an appearance during the Games.

With the exception of King Charles's coronation, Prince Harry has not seen his family during his visits to London this year, and it's unlikely this trip will be any different. On September 7, King Charles will still be at Balmoral, where he plans to spend the anniversary of his mother Queen Elizabeth's passing on September 8.
