Prince Harry Returns Home to California
Prince Harry has officially touched down back in California. The Duke of Sussex traveled to the UK for the first time in over a year for Prince Philip's funeral. The trip, however, was fairly quick, as his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is due to give birth later this summer.
While in England, Prince Harry reunited with his family members, whom he hadn't seen since prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, Harry got to see his brother, Prince William. The pair walked in the funeral procession together, and were spotted chatting while leaving the services. According to Harper's Bazaar, conversations between Harry, Prince Charles, and Prince William took place after the funeral.
Harper's Bazaar also reports that, following his five day quarantine at Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry visited Princess Eugenie and her newborn son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, and met privately with Queen Elizabeth at least twice during his time in the country. While there were rumors that Prince Harry might stay in the UK today for the Queen's 95th birthday, the monarch is having a "low key" day without much celebration.
All of these reunions come during a fraught time for the royal family. Just over a month ago, Oprah Winfrey interviewed Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan. During this televised special, Harry described an estranged relationship with both his father and brother. "The relationship is space, at the moment," Harry said, referencing his dynamic with William.
However, it seems that the family was able to come together to honor Prince Philip, who died at age 99. This reunion, and the global outpouring of support for the Queen, seems to mean a lot to the monarch, who noted that she is "deeply touched" by the "support and kindness" shown to her and her family.
