Prince William Gave His Kids the Most New York City Souvenirs Ever

In case you missed it, Prince William recently embarked on a brief two-day visit to New York City, where the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit took place. During his stay, the royal accrued a number of quintessential New York souvenirs to bring home to his three kids: 10-year-old Prince George, eight-year-old Princess Charlotte, and five-year-old Prince Louis.

On his final day in the city, William visited one of the FDNY fire stations across the street from the World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial, where he heard firsthand from emergency responders about their work experience and the importance of mental health in their communities. People reported that the fire station gave William gifts intended for his kids, including small rubber fire trucks, pens, notebooks, and T-shirts from their stair climb.

Upon leaving the station, William greeted onlookers outside on a walkabout. There, a well-wisher gave William a few state license plate souvenirs and three more T-shirts for George, Charlotte, and Louis, according to video footage shared by HuffPost reporter Carly Ledbetter. The tees bore the city's iconic “I LOVE NY” logo.

Ledbetter notes that William told the well-wisher that “he would ‘one day’ love to bring the kids” to New York.

Though his time in New York was short, the Prince of Wales led a jam-packed schedule full of engagements all over the city, which included a wade in the East River with the Billion Oyster Project and a meeting with Ecuador’s President Lasso Mendoza.

“It’s so good to be back in the United States. No one does optimism and ingenuity like the American people, so it’s only right we unveil this year’s Earthshot finalists in New York City,” William said upon arriving at Newark Airport on Monday, per Kensington Palace. “Eighty years ago, the world came together in this great city to find a new way, through the UN, to solve our shared challenges. I know our generation can take the bold action we need to make changes towards a healthy and sustainable world. The challenge may feel huge, but as John F. Kennedy taught us, we rise to the challenge not because it is easy, but because it is hard. And vital.”
