The Prince and Princess of Wales have met with troops from the Commonwealth who are set to take part in the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II this forthcoming Monday.

Today, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited the Army Training Centre Pirbright to meet with soldiers from Commonwealth countries Canada, Australia, and New Zealand who were deployed to the United Kingdom in service of the late monarch.

The couple thanked senior representatives of the defence staff as well as servicepeople for the role they have in honoring the passing of the queen, who died last Thursday.

For the outing, Kate wore a black coat dress, a black hat, sheer black stockings, and black pumps. She also carried a mini black handbag. Meanwhile, William wore a black suit with his military honors adorned to his chest. Their all-black ensembles represents the current period of royal mourning, as declared by King Charles III last Friday.

The visit follows another appearance made by William and Kate yesterday, which marked their first solo public outing as Prince and Princess of Wales. The royals traveled to Sandringham to visit the many floral tributes left by mourners for Queen Elizabeth II. The pair had also viewed the tributes and greeted mourners outside Windsor Castle last weekend. At the time, William had invited Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan to join them for the somber walkabout.

William previously released a statement reflecting on the life and legacy of his grandmother.

"My grandmother famously said that grief was the price we pay for love," the message read. "All of the sadness we will feel in the coming weeks will be testament to the love we felt for our extraordinary Queen. I will honour her memory by supporting my father, The King, in every way I can."
