Princess Charlotte Turns 8! See Brand New Photos of the Young Royal

Princess Charlotte is celebrating her eighth birthday! To mark the milestone, her parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, have shared two lovely new photos of their daughter.

The first picture, taken by the Princess of Wales this past weekend in Windsor, shows Charlotte smiling big—and missing a few of her front teeth! She also wears an adorable white floral dress:

Perhaps the picture was taken before Kate took her daughter to the ballet? On Saturday, the Princess of Wales was spotted with Charlotte and Charlotte's friends at the Royal Opera House in London, watching the Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada's performance of Cinderella. In the new image, Charlotte appears to be wearing a different dress she wore to the performance (white, instead of pink).

Kate, an amateur photographer, often photographs her children in honor of their birthdays. Last year, Princess Charlotte's 7th birthday portraits (also taken by her mom) showed the young royal with the family's dog, Orla. In a second photo released for Charlotte's birthday this year, this one taken by Millie Pilkington, Charlotte smiles big as she hugs Orla:

It's gearing up to be a big week for Princess Charlotte and the rest of the royal family. Her grandfather King Charles's coronation is on Saturday, and Princess Charlotte is expected to attend the service at Westminster Abbey alongside her parents and her older brother, Prince George, who is a page of honor during the service. It's as yet unclear whether or not 5-year-old Prince Louis will attend the service, but he will reportedly join Charlotte and George in the procession from the Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

Princess Charlotte last appeared publicly with the royal family on Easter Sunday.
