Like her mother, everything Princess Charlotte wears turns to gold. That’s why British valuation and strategy company, The Brand Finance Group, estimates the 2-year-old’s net worth at a whopping £3 billion ($5.2 billion CAD).

The tiny princess is reportedly worth more than her older brother, who is third in line for the throne. At 3, Prince George has an estimate net worth of £2.4 billion ($4.2 billion CAD).

Brand Finance’s marketing and communications director Robert Haigh says there’s a simple explanation for the gap.

“This is actually as simple as the relative size of the men’s and women’s fashion markets, by which I mean that Charlotte’s endorsement effect will likely be felt across a much broader range of products and brands or types of clothing than will George’s, allowing a greater scope for the monetisation of her ‘brand’ and hence a higher value.”

Like the Duchess’s “Kate effect,” the princess now lends to her own “Charlotte effect.” It became apparent moments after birth when the GH Hurt & Sons shawl she was wrapped in sold out instantly.

At this rate, the young royal might soon surpass her mom. According to Brand Finance, the Duchess of Cambridge’s fashion influence is worth £4.7 billion ($8.2 billion CAD).
