Catherine, Princess of Wales, paid tribute to the late Princess Diana through her gorgeous look for last night's Earthshot Prize Awards.
For the last engagement of her and Prince William's jam-packed Boston tour, the princess chose a bright, mint-green off-the-shoulder gown by Solace London, which she rented from the British platform HURR. She paired the jaw-dropping dress with a special accessory: an emerald-and-diamond choker necklace which previously belonged to her late mother-in-law.
The opulent necklace was gifted to Diana by Queen Elizabeth, following her wedding to Prince Charles. During the pair's 1985 Australia tour, the late princess memorably wore the piece as a headband. It was paired with a teal-green one-shouldered ballgown, which featured a drop-waist and a large bow decoration.
Diana also wore the piece again for an engagement at the Dorchester Hotel in 1993, when it accompanied a bright green column gown with wrap detailing and a subtle off-the-shoulder silhouette.
Kate's glamorous appearance for the Friday night prize ceremony concluded the Prince and Princess of Wales' three-day trip, which marked their first visit to the U.S. since 2014. The princess' fashion for the tour included several elegant suits, including a sleek all-navy ensemble for the couple's arrival at Boston's Logan International Airport, and a wine-colored set paired with a pink pussy-bow blouse for a visit to Greentown Labs in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Kate also took part in a solo outing to Harvard's Center on the Developing Child, which has a relationship with her The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. For the visit, the royal wore a bold houndstooth midi dress in black and blue from Emilia Wickstead, paired with black Gianvito Rossi suede pumps and gold Liv Thurlwell hoop earrings.
