Progresso's New 'Soup Drops' Are Wilder Than Willy Wonka Could've Dreamed
Thanks to a cozy new innovation from Progresso, the year is already off to quite the savory start. If you've ever longed for a comforting bowl of soup during your daily commute or while running errands, but don't want the mess of, well, soup...Progresso has released a unique offering that lets you do just that. Seriously.
The beloved soup brand is launching the first-ever limited-edition Soup Drops. Cleverly described as "soup you can suck on," the Soup Drops are convenient hard candies that taste just like a bowl of Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup. Progresso didn't skimp on adding all the flavor elements you love about chicken noodle soup, including "broth, savory veggies, chicken, soft egg noodles, and a hint of parsley."
With the month of January serving as both National Soup Month and the peak of cold and flu season, Progresso knew they wanted their iconic soup to evolve into something more fun and convenient.
“For decades, Progresso Soup has brought you cozy comfort on chilly days or when you’re under the weather,” said MC Comings, VP, Business Unit Director for Progresso at General Mills in a statement. “When you’re sick, nothing is truly more reassuring than Chicken Noodle Soup. So, we thought, why stop at the soup bowl?"

Progresso Soup Drops will be available exclusively at ProgressoSoupDrops.com starting on Thursday, January 16 at 9 a.m. ET. Each pack of Soup Drops will include 20 individually wrapped candies and can be purchased for $2.49 (plus 99 cents shipping).
