Quaker Oats Recalls Certain Granola Bars and Cereals Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

The Quaker Oats Company has voluntarily recalled a number of its granola bars and granola-based cereals due to potential contamination from the Salmonella bacteria. The recalled products include multiple flavors of its popular Chewy granola bars, its Chewy Dipps granola bars, and the granola bars that were part of several Frito-Lay snack packs.

According to the company, the recalled products were distributed for sale throughout all 50 United States and in some U.S. territories, including Guam, Puerto Rico, and Saipan. The potentially affected products were available at big box retailers, including Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart, as well as several supermarket chains.

Quaker Oats says that it has not received any confirmed reports of illnesses or hospitalizations related to the products included in the recall. Only the products listed in this recall are potentially affected; no other Quaker products have been recalled at this time.

The recalled Quaker Oats Granola cereals include some varieties of the flavors below:

• Quaker Puffed Granola Apple Cinnamon Cereal

• Quaker Puffed Granola Blueberry Vanilla Cereal

• Quaker Simply Granola Oats, Honey & Almonds Cereal

• Quaker Simply Granola Oats, Honey, Raisins & Almonds Cereal

• Quaker Protein Granola Oats, Chocolate, & Almonds Flavor

The granola bars included in some variety snack mixes have also been recalled, including some Frito-Lay Lunch Box Mixes, Tasty Snack Mixes, and Ultimate Flavor Snack Care Packages.

Customers are encouraged to check their pantries for any of the recalled products, and those products should be discarded.
