Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new biography Finding Freedom is just days away from hitting shelves, and apparently, the Palace (by which I mean the Queen) isn’t expected to be thrilled.

A source tells Vanity Fair, “It’s going to open old wounds at a time when everyone wanted to move on. I think the person who will be most upset about it all is the Queen.”

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand spoke to around 100 sources (although apparently, during the height of royal drama, “people who had previously been helpful started pulling away from the authors and giving them the cold shoulder”), but Meghan and Harry have made it clear they didn’t participate in the book. The couple released a statement through their rep saying, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom. This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”

Vanity Fair also confirms the couple was not shown a copy of the book ahead of its publication nor did they ask to see one. In other words, they’re staying out of it.
