Quentin Tarantino Confirms That 'Kill Bill: Vol. 3' Is Not Happening
Quentin Tarantino has clarified the rumors surrounding Kill Bill: Vol. 3 once and for all.
The filmmaker confirmed in a new interview with DeMorgen that he is not working or developing on a third installment, and reiterated that his final film is set in stone. “I don’t see that," Tarantino said of Vol. 3. "My last film is about a film critic, a male critic. And he plays in the 70s."
Talks of a Vol. 3 date back to many years ago, with Tarantino seemingly toying with the idea. In 2019, he mentioned to Andy Cohen that he has "an idea" of what he would like to do if he ever created a Vol. 3, “Because I wouldn’t want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn’t deserve that. The Bride has fought long and hard and now I have an idea that could actually be interesting.”
Two years later, he talked about the "f*cking exciting" possibility of Uma Thurman returning as Beatrix Kiddo with her real-life daughter, Maya Hawke, playing a grown-up Bebe. By October of that year, he seemed to be open to Kill Bill Vol. 3 being his final film.
It was confirmed earlier this year, however, that Tarantino's last film will be The Movie Critic, which is supposedly based on or inspired by the career of famed movie critic Pauline Kael.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Daniel Kaluuya's Barney film is described as an "A24-type" "surrealistic" movie.
