Meticulously sourced and certified by in-house design and vintage experts, the curated Ralph Lauren Vintage collections will include men’s and women’s designs from current and retired labels including Ralph Lauren Western, Ralph Lauren Black Label, Polo Sport, and more. The new Ralph Lauren Vintage drops will roll out on a monthly basis, with pieces available via a dedicated page on the Ralph Lauren website and select stores worldwide. Pieces will range in price from $150 to $3500.
The first drop is decidedly retro, with styles that date from as far back as the 1970s. Highlights include a charming Polo Ralph Lauren Cricket Sweater ($350) from the fall 1986 collection and a cozy Polo Ralph Lauren Polo Crest Cardigan ($595) from the fall 1987 collection. The drop also includes several preppy pieces perfect for any gents looking to revisit 1990s fashion, such as a Polo Ralph Lauren Polo Bear Sweater ($1,295) from ‘92, a bright yellow Polo Ralph Lauren Sweater ($695) from ‘97, and a Polo Ralph Lauren Plaid Cotton Jacket ($895) from ’94. Other nostalgic gems include a Polo Sportsman Vest ($495) from ’93 and a Polo Sportsman Twill Ball Cap ($200).
Ralph Lauren actually began selling vintage items to the public with the launch of RRL in 1993. The label also started offering carefully sourced pre-owned pieces online in 2021, but they hailed from all different brands and were not exclusively from Ralph Lauren collections. The new program will spotlight the very best of the Ralph Lauren archive.
Ralph Lauren, considered the most successful American fashion designer of all time, has always taken inspiration from the past. For over 50 years, his eponymous label has produced designs rooted in the British country elegance and relaxed American athletic and Ivy style of yesteryear. The timeless, well-crafted pieces appear to transcend fleeting trends, ensuring they get better with age and can be enjoyed by future generations. Ralph Lauren Vintage is further proof of that.
