The "Really Cute" DIY Gift Idea That You'll Want to Keep for Yourself
Valentine’s Day can be the best day for some people and a dreadful holiday for others. All I know for sure is that I am all about a Galentine’s Day celebration. Whether you want a low-key movie night with your friends or a fancy party with pink and red heart decor and candy charcuterie boards, you’ve got endless possibilities for ways to celebrate and things to do. Personally, one of my favorite Galentine’s Day party ideas is a themed craft night.
And if you’re looking for a craft option, Instagrammer Ashley Robison (@ashley.robison) posted the most adorable Reel highlighting DIY Galentine’s Day tote bags, made from turning plain tote bags into patch-covered cuties. All you have to do is buy blank canvas tote bags and a bunch of cute Valentine’s Day-themed patches and ribbons. You may also need a mini iron or sewing kit for the patches. You can easily find all of the supplies online.
What You’ll Need
Blank beige canvas tote bags ($11.99 for five)
Lots of cute patch options, like these conversation hearts patches ($11.99 for 30), this 3-inch cherry patch with a pink bow ($8.99), this Valentine’s Day patch mix ($9.99 for an assortment), and these chenille letter patches ($31.42 for 62)
A few ribbon options, like this red heart ribbon ($11.99) and this red, pink, and gold striped ribbon (on sale for $1.99)
Mini craft iron ($11.99)
Mini sewing kit ($5.98)
In the Instagram Reel above, Robison went with heart and V-Day heart candy patches, as well as some letters with pink bows and “XOXO” patches. You and your friends can personalize each of your tote bags however you want, or you could make matching ones with your besties. I would design mine to be simpler, with lots of solid colored hearts and ribbons.
This can also be a really cute Galentine’s Day gift.
Combine this craft with tasty Galentine’s Day snacks and blast pop girly music to really set the vibe!
