Record breaking 650 Santas run city's streets
More than 650 Santas ran through a city's streets in a record-breaking year for an annual fun run.
Gloucester was filled with red and white on Saturday as beard-clad athletes took on a 1km or 5km route in aid of local groups and charities.
More than £5,000 pounds was raised - the largest amount since the event was launched by the Rotary Club of Gloucester in 2017.
Matt Cass helped organise the event and said: "It's absolutely fantastic."
"The community of Gloucester really comes together for this... it's great to just see it grow and grow and grow," Mr Cass added.
"I'm running out of space in Kings Square."
The run was a fitting end to 2025 for Karen Reid, Janna Hinchliff and Annderley Hill, all from Gloucester, who had recently completed the Couch to 5k running programme.
Ms Reid said: "It's great to see so many Santas, a snowman, and elves all dressed up in the square today."
She said the friends felt it was "only right" to take part in the run.
As well as individuals, running groups from across Gloucestershire came out to show off their best festive fancy dress.
Carole Stacey is part of the Cheltenham Running Club which had nine members signed up and said it was "just exhilarating".
"The weather was really kind to us and it was just jam-packed with people smiling and laughing and having fun", she added.
The event was started to raise money for the Rotary Club of Gloucester Community Awards, which funds smaller local groups and charities.
This year recipients included local football clubs, urban gardening projects, and a bridge club.
Mr Cass said: "The whole reason for the awards was that you don't need to be a charity, it can just be a project."
He said anyone who had a project that might qualify should apply.
The Gloucester Santa Fun Run is set to return to the city in December 2025.
