Reformation's Sunglasses Line Contains The Perfect Pair Of Retro Aviators
If sustainability ranks high on your list of shopping priorities, it's likely Reformation is already one of the first places to look for wear-everywhere jeans, working-week essentials and, of course, those perfect wedding-guest dresses.
Now, your planet-first predilections can extend above the neck, as Ref is finally launching the sustainable sunglasses line-up we all want.
Launching today, Reformation x Jimmy Fairly is a collection of five sunglass styles that nod to the past while feeling entirely on-point for this year's incoming long, hot summer (manifest with me, won't you?)

The two perfectly matched brands have looked to retro silhouettes for inspiration, taking on the 1970s aviator, the slender 1950s cat-eye, and a rounded oval silhouette that serves just the right amount of 1960s nostalgia.
Naturally, these aren't your grandma's plastic sunnies: the two brands have worked solely with 100% bio-acetate for the frames and bio-nylon for the lenses, meaning the impact on the planet is pleasingly petite. While traditional acetate is made using petroleum, bio-acetate employs plant-derived renewable materials, such as wood pulp.
'Reformation's mission is to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. Two specific ways that we are delivering on that mission include expanding into new categories and introducing the brand to new geographies,' Sarah Budhiman, VP of global business development at Reformation tells us.
'Our new capsule collection with iconic French eyewear brand Jimmy Fairly enables us to test demand for sunglasses with our customers for the first time and give them a new way to complete their summer wardrobe with Ref,' she adds. 'Aesthetically, the collection marries Reformation's vintage-inspired design ethos with Jimmy Fairly's optical expertise and classic French sensibility.'
Indeed, Ref has found a worthy ally in Jimmy Fairly, which works to a similarly tight sustainability ethos. So far, the brand has donated over 1 million pairs of opticals to people in need through its Buy One Give One program with charity Restoring Vision.
So, that's the sustainability box ticked – but what about the styles? The Joan is your slender angled cat-eye, best worn with girlcore dresses and preppy knitwear. For something a little softer in silhouette, consider the Flore: a petite oval silhouette that'll really set off a crisp white shirt and slinky satin skirt. The Coline is slightly more statement-making – especially with the contrast pink lenses – while the supersized Josephine is calling out to be styled with bootcut jeans. But the absolute must-try? The Brune: a perfect yellow-lensed aviator that delivers all that bold 1970s energy while remaining slender and super-flattering: the perfect portion of summertime nostalgia. Try them with an obnoxiously bright red lipstick and tell me I'm wrong.
Reformation X Jimmy Fairly will be available online and in-store from May 14.
