As someone who tests out skincare products on a weekly basis, I rarely get excited for new products.
I mean, sure, there’s the instant lust for wanting a new pretty bottle, and I get giddy about the science behind a formula; but after emptying out a sample, I just run back to the same roster of oils, serums, masks and moisturizers that I’ve committed to for nearly a decade now.
But when I learned Summer Fridays was coming out with an eye cream, my curiosity was piqued more than usual.
Why? Not only because I’m a huge fan of the brand’s best-selling Jet Lag Mask, but because their newest release claims to de-puff, soothe and illuminate all skin tones, leaving the eye-area hydrated and perfectly primed for makeup or concealer.
Opening up its beautiful packaging, I couldn’t help but compare its tangerine-hued formula to my all-time favourite vitamin C eye cream by Ole Henriksen: both formulas are infused with golden light-reflectors for a more awakened appearance and are soft in texture for easy swipe application. But while Summer Fridays’ Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream lacked the fruity scent that I’m used to, it surprisingly made up for it with its instant brightening abilities. It worked so well, I forgot to put on concealer for my Zoom calls that day.

Best of all, it wears well throughout the day, with or without concealer. During the winter months I get pretty dry around the apples of my cheeks and underneath my eyes, but this formula had me looking and feeling super dewy.
Since trying this product out, I’ve seen it non-stop on TikTok with beauty enthusiasts sharing their before and after looks and doing side-by-side comparisons of their skin with the eye cream on and without — liike me, their results are immediately noticeable!
While it's steep in price, I definitely see myself stocking up on this eye cream. It sits up there with the very few formulas that I think are worth the hype and actually deliver their promises. My only problem now is having to wait for replenishment.
