RJ Hampshire Out for SMX Finale with Wrist Injury

RJ Hampshire, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, the 2024 250SX West Monster Energy Supercross Champion, will sit out the SuperMotocross World Championship Finale at The Strip at The Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend due to a wrist injury. During the second moto last weekend in Texas for Playoff 2, RJ had a brutal crash in the rhythm section and could not finish the race.

Would’ve loved to have a good ending in Vegas but after aggravating my wrist again in Charlotte, then the crash last weekend we all decided it was best to sit out this weekend! Take the offseason to get my wrist back to 100% and focus on 2025! Thank you @husqvarnamotorcyclesusa @rockstarenergy for an unforgettable year 🙌🏼 - RJ Hampshire (@rjhampshire via Instagram)

He is dealing with a wrist injury from the AMA Pro Motocross Series opener during Media Day that took him out for most of the campaign until he returned at Budds Creek. In his second race back, he placed 3rd overall on the day at the Ironman National.

In the SMX Playoff 1 round from Charlotte, RJ also hit the ground hard during the second moto in the rhythm section, aggravating the wrist more.

Hampshire, 13th in 250SMX points, and the team have decided to sit out this weekend and look ahead to the 2025 season.
