Robert F. "Bobby" Kennedy III is set to marry former CIA officer Amaryllis Fox at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port on July 9, and his father says he's over the moon about the upcoming nuptials.

"I'm really happy," Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told T&C Tuesday morning following the first report of the wedding plans in the New York Post. His son, 33, and the former CIA clandestine service officer, 36, have been dating for about a year.

Kennedy Jr. said that the wedding "is going to be kind of a clambake, which is the same thing Cheryl and I did and it worked." The attorney, author, and activist married actress Cheryl Hines at the Hyannis Port compound in 2014, and food at their reception included included pizza from the restaurant Palio's in nearby Hyannis along with steamed lobster and a clambake.

When asked if the whole Kennedy family is looking forward to the wedding, the groom's father said, "yes, everybody is excited." And in regards to their feelings about Fox? "We love her!"

The daughter of an English actress and an American economist, Fox was born in New York but moved every year of her childhood, according to her biography on WME Speakers, a division of WME talent agency. Before enrolling at Oxford University, she volunteered at a refugee camp and interviewed Aung San Suu Kyi at the Thai-Burmese border for the BBC, which landed her a brief stint in a Burmese prison at the age of 18, but also resulted in the first radio broadcast from Suu Kyi in nearly a year.

After graduating from Oxford in 2002, Fox began graduate work in international security at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and developed an algorithm to predict terrorist activity. The CIA's officer-in-residence asked her to share the algorithm with the Agency, which went on to hire her first as a political and terrorism analyst and then as a clandestine service officer.

Since leaving that role in 2009, Fox, who bears a striking resemblance to Keira Knightley, started Mulu, an e-commerce company supporting at-risk communities worldwide. She was later recruited by Twitter to run the company's consumer products e-commerce division. She left Twitter in December 2015 and has since focused on writing. She also signed on as host of the History Channel series American Ripper and currently lives in San Francisco with her daughter, Zoë.

Kennedy III, meanwhile, has been heavily involved in the entertainment industry. He starred as a lazy college graduate who gets involved in mischief and adventure in Italy after his parents cut him off financially in the 2013 film AmeriQua and also wrote, produced, and directed ELEW: Live from Infinity, a documentary about musician Eric Lewis. Now he's writing and producing Freak Power, a film about Hunter S. Thompson's campaign for sheriff in Colorado. He previously dated equestrian Montana Coady, ex-wife of Starz CEO Chris Albrecht.

Of the upcoming nuptials, a source told the Post, "This is the American equivalent of a royal wedding."
