'Rock the Block' Fans Go Wild After HGTV Drops Major Season 5 News
It's time to mark your calendars: Rock the Block is returning to HGTV soon! The network announced that season 5 will premiere on March 4, and while the competitors are familiar, it sounds like the episodes will be filled with surprises.
For the first time ever, the show is heading to the beach, where fan favorites will return for a chance at redemption. Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island), Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block), Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Houses), and Page Turner and Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip) will have six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to renovate the waterfront homes, complete with pools and boat docks, in the town of Treasure Island, Florida. HGTV staple Ty Pennington will return as the host.
HGTV announced the premiere date news on Instagram and the post was met with excited comments, like, "My favorite show! Can’t wait!!" and "Yay👏👏👏 I love that show can’t wait. Very excited.❤️" Some fans are already picking their favorites: "I'm going with Paige or the Baumelers for the win" and "We can't wait. Rooting for the twins!"
Ty Pennington noted, "We’ve got it all- blood, sweat and definitely some tears!😬🙈," and former Rock the Block winner Brian Kleinschmidt mentioned, "We’ve been involved with all 5 Seasons of RTB and this will be the biggest, boldest and best one yet!" Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt will be joining as celebrity judges along with Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, Kristina Crestin, Veronica Valencia, and Michel Smith Boyd. The finale will feature a special appearance by Jonathan Scott of Property Brothers fame.
