The Rock Wears a Striking Gold TAG Heuer Chronograph on ‘The Tonight Show’
Can you smell what the Rock is cookin’? On Monday night’s episode of The Tonight Show, he spilled the beans about his return to the ring.
Dwayne Johnson, famously known by his wrestling stage name, appeared on the late-night talk show on Monday in New York City to talk about his return to WME. Headlines flooded the web in September, when he appeared in a surprise promo with John Cena. He spoke with Jimmy Fallon about hitting the arena for the first time since 2019 wearing an all-black look plus some major wrist candy.

The retired wrestler wore a striking Tag Heuer Carrera chronograph on his left wrist that currently retails for $21,500. It features a 42 mm case made from 18-karat 3N yellow gold, which houses a contrasting black dial. On the face, you’ll find a 12-hour and 30-minute chronograph counter, hour markers, and hands. Mirroring former series models, the watch also features a tachymeter scale along its outer rim, as well as a date aperture at 6 o’clock.
The watch’s under-the-hood specs might prove useful for extended days on set. Tag Heuer’s calibre Heuer 02, a column-wheel chronograph, powers the piece with a balance frequency of 28,000 vph. The automatic movement also provides the actor and film producer with an 80-hour power reserve. He can view it all in action via the openwork caseback, which showcases its black oscillating mass.
Johnson’s appearance at the WWE Smackdown arena this fall wasn’t the first time he surprised wrestling fans. The star famously made his debut at the franchise’s Survivor Series in 1996. Eight years later, he retired in 2004 at age 32 before returning in 2012 to fight John Cena in a WrestleMania match. Ever since then, he’s gone on to star in a number of films from 2001’s The Mummy Returns to his most recent appearance in 2023’s Fast X.
In 2016, the actor did the voiceover for the character Maui in Disney’s Moana. During his talk with Fallon, he confirmed that he will take on the role again in the live-action remake. Given the character’s buff, tatted appearance, he’s an ideal match for the role. And we don’t doubt that his red-carpet watch selections for the premiere will catch our attention just as easily.
