Rosalynn Carter's Incredible Life in Pictures
Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter passed away at age 96 on November 19, 2023. She left behind a significant legacy as a humanitarian and mental health advocate. Her husband of 77 years, former President Jimmy Carter, once said that the “pinnacle of his life” was when he married his childhood sweetheart. “The best thing I ever did was marrying Rosa,” Jimmy said in 2015. The couple founded The Carter Center more than 40 years ago to help promote their mission to alleviate human suffering and promote human rights.
Rosalynn and Jimmy shared four children, 22 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren. Rosalynn will be missed by all who loved her and whose lives were impacted by her work.
