Rosie O'Donnell Ran Into Ivanka Trump in NYC
Rosie O’Donnell reportedly ran into Ivanka Trump, the daughter of her archnemesis Donald Trump, on Wednesday evening in New York City. On Twitter, she told WABC-TV anchor Bill Ritter that they met at Nobu 57 in Manhattan:
@IvankaTrump in a city of 8 million - we meet face 2 face - i thank u 4 listening - mother 2 mother - on this new years week - my best 2 u

The elder Trump and Rosie have been feuding for years, with Trump having called her a "true loser," "crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb," and more. When Hillary Clinton brought up Trump’s history of calling women "pigs, slobs and dogs" at the first presidential debate last week, Trump took another jab at Rosie. "Hillary is hitting me with tremendous commercials. Some of it’s said in entertainment," Trump said. "Some of it’s said to somebody who has been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell. I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her."
A good portion of Rosie’s recent tweets have taken aim at Trump:
it is abuse https://t.co/wYZ2FcJRvr

i told the truth about him in 2006 - he is not over it https://t.co/EvxYa7A4bL
he is the worst human ever- Rosie (@Rosie) October 4, 2016
Unfortunately, Rosie didn’t tweet out details of her conversation with Ivanka, who is a surrogate for her father and helped craft his child care and family leave policy. However, based on the tweet, it sounds like they were respectful toward each other. Referencing the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah, she wrote, "thank u 4 listening - mother 2 mother - on this new years week. - my best 2 you."
Ritter later wrote on Facebook that news of the meeting filled him with hope: "So Rosie’s sincere and sweet sentiment about the daughter of the man she has vilified and been vilified by hit some kind of note for me. Two moms. Listening. Rosh Hashanah. I mean, c’mon... it’s human kindness overflowing. And it’s fabulous."
