It's Kate Middleton's birthday, and while for the Princess of Wales that surely means plenty of birthday wishes and salutations, for fans of the royal family, it also means never before seen photos to enjoy! Earlier today, the royal family's official social media profile on X (formerly Twitter) shared a special birthday wish for Kate along with a new photo of the princess from King Charles's coronation in May 2023.

"Wishing The Princess of Wales a very happy birthday today!" they wrote in the post.

Taken by veteran royal photographer Chris Jackson, the photo features Kate in the white embroidered Alexander McQueen gown topped with royal blue and red ceremonial robes that she wore for the coronation, as well as the sequined flower headpiece by Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen that she opted for instead of a traditional tiara. In the foreground of the photo, King Charles himself stands, wearing the Imperial State Crown, along with Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and Prince Edward, suggesting that the image may have been captured at Buckingham Palace either before or just after Charles and Camilla made their first appearance on the palace balcony.

Last year, the royals paid homage to Kate's big day with a photo of the princess on her first trip to Wales since taking on the title of Princess of Wales in September 2022, making this year's entry very much in tradition.

Westminster Abbey also shared a message for the royal's birthday, with a video of the bells being rung in her honor.
