Sabrina Carpenter's red sheer lace dress and feather stilettos gives boudoir chic
Okay, we're fully convinced this is Sabrina Carpenter's world and we're all just living in it. Fresh off the back of winning her first-ever Grammy Award (congrats, ’Brina!) – and just winning the 2025 Grammys in general tbh, from her jaw-dropping baby blue feathered red carpet 'fit to her show-stealing performance – the pint-sized pop star has appeared on her first ever Vogue cover. Which, if you're not aware, is a pretty big deal in the celebrity and fashion worlds alike.
Starring on the cover of the publication's March issue, Sabrina can be seen posing in a baby blue (yes, the pastel shade is one of her signature colours) satin corset dress. The custom Dolce & Gabbana design – one of many in Sabrina's collection – features a conical bra, lace-up detailing at the sides and centre, plus a garter belt to hammer home the boudoir chic aesthetic.
Consider her trademark blonde bouncy curls, now an icy hue and piled even more voluminously on her head, paired with the 'fit and it's no wonder there have been multiple similarities drawn between the 25-year-old and a young Madonna. But the Material Girl and Pop Queen isn't the only icon Sabrina channelled in the accompanying photoshoot.
Wearing a butter yellow strapless Prada gown, coordinating LaPointe feathered jacket and practically dripping in Graff diamond jewellery, Sabrina is serving Marilyn Monroe.
Given Madonna herself has frequently referenced the vintage film star throughout her career, most notably in the ‘Material Girl’ music video, it's no surprise the references are interchangeable. As one social media user commented on the post, “Old Hollywood classic vibes. We love it 🩵. Madonna and Marilyn would be proud.”
While looking to the past is key to the look Sabrina has created for herself – a recognisably niche aesthetic many have coined ‘Brinacore’ that encapsulates baby doll dresses and mini skirts, sequin embellishments and lipstick kiss marks, platform boots and a colour palette of pinks, blues and reds – she manages to make her retro pin-up girl vibe feel remarkably modern at the same time. Case in point: the red lace Gucci dress she dons in another of the Vogue pictures. Scroll to see...
The see-through dress is crafted entirely from scarlet lace depicting floral motifs. As well as cut-outs at the sides, the design is totally open at the back, tied with crisscrossing straps to keep it in place. Coordinating sheer red high-waisted knickers are all she has on underneath, with red stockings and red feathered Paris Texas mule heels finishing the look and leaning into the luxe lingerie and ‘nightwear as daywear’ feel of the whole photoshoot.
Yep, we're more than happy to stay here in Sabrina's world. Now Alexa, play ‘Espresso’ on repeat.
