Welcome to December, Sagittarius. Your season ends this month, as does 2024, but the end of the month is so optimistic that you won't mind. During November, your horoscope discussed how Pluto stationed into Aquarius and will stay there for the next two decades. This month, while you still may be recovering from November, your attention turns to affecting change within your community and enjoying the romantic full moon.
The first major transit of the month arrives on Friday, December 6, when the warrior planet Mars goes retrograde in Leo and your philosophical ninth House. Mars retrograde can affect your libido, so be easy with yourself if you notice shifts in your sex drive between now and February. It can also make you less assertive, which sounds contrary to your Sagittarius nature but, honestly, is an excuse to relax. It affects your ninth House, which rules travel, but as Mars is retrograde, from a converse standpoint, you'll most likely want to be using this time to unwind at home.
Also on Friday, December 6, the lover planet Venus enters your communicative third House. Coupled with Mars retrograde, this transit suggests that the first weekend of the month is best spent relaxing at home with friends or a partner and doing something cozy like watching TV, rather than having major discussions. The next day, on Saturday, December 7, Ceres, the asteroid of nurturance, joins Venus in your third House, further encouraging you to unwind with the arts (and it can be as lowbrow as you like).
Adding to the coziness of this weekend, also on Saturday, December 7, the dreamy planet Neptune ends its retrograde and goes direct in your fourth House of Home and Family. With this fog lifted, your stress levels should lower making it easier to relax at home.
Mark Sunday, December 15, down in your calendar. The sky lights up with a Gemini full moon, the moon phase that marks culmination. As this lunation affects your seventh House of Partnership, it could see a new relationship leveling up. At times, full moons can leave us on edge and feeling anxious, so it's ideal to continue to relax at home on this night. On the same date, messenger Mercury ends its retrograde and goes direct, helping soothe any tension.
Don't neglect your friends during Mars retrograde.
The sun enters ambitious Capricorn, on the winter solstice, Saturday, December 21, the shortest day of the year. It's a night for intimate gatherings around the fire with family and friends. This date is also Yule, a Pagan celebration from which Christmas derives many traditions, such as lighting candles and decorating trees. While you want to carve out plenty of time to relax, know that for the next few weeks the sun is in your opulent second House. Your ambitious Sagittarius nature might want to push through any Mars retrograde and sneak away to make some business deals, but if you do so, don't neglect your friends.
Speaking of, while some of you will be traveling to see blood relatives and have a wonderful time, know that the winter holidays may be challenging for some. It's important to connect with your chosen family no matter what your situation. Chiron, the wounded healer, ends its retrograde and goes direct in Aries and your pleasurable fifth House on Sunday, December 29. That could mean toe-curling sex with new partners or established ones, but it also points to having a lot of fun with friends.
The next day, the month starts to wrap up with a dark Capricorn new moon affecting your second House on Monday, December 30. While prioritizing happiness and nothing unhappy, it's okay if you want to use this date to meditate on changes you wish to see over the course of the new year.
