We love a good warehouse club store with its inexpensive grocery deals offered in bulk and monthly instant savings. The only issue is that you have to be a member to reap the benefits of shopping at club stores. Or do you? We recently uncovered some surprising information about where exactly you can shop at Sam's Club—even without a membership.

Where You Can Shop at Sam’s Club Without a Membership

Sam’s Club members can shell out anywhere from $50 to $110 per year depending on which membership they join, and while that cost isn’t terrible, it may not fit within many budgets.

On a recent Reddit thread, an alleged employee of the membership-only warehouse stated that there are some items you can still purchase even when you’re not a member.

The Sam's Club employee stated, “We don’t require a membership at our club for the cafe.” They went on to say, “I work in the cafe and some times whole offices full of people come and get a couple pizzas and have a meeting at the tables.”

With deals on pizzas for less than $10 and a hot dog and drink combo for $1.38, we’re pretty stoked about this fact. Plus, the café tends to offer new and limited-edition items, like the Black Tie Brownie Sundae we loved in the fall, so we know there’s plenty to score here.

Non-members are also able to use the pharmacy, says the employee. Others on the post agreed while adding that vision and hearing are also available to everyone.

One user, in particular, agreed that you don’t have to be a member to use the “Cafe, the Pharmacy, and the Optician.” They also said, "If someone is not allowed into these areas, they can contact Sams Club and find out why."

Alcohol

We checked the Sam’s Club website, and it explains that people can purchase alcohol at select Sam’s Clubs where available, even if they are not members. With deals on the club’s Member’s Mark label offering bottles of wine for less than $8 and premium European wines by the bundle for under $30, there is plenty to choose from, all without signing up.

While you can’t shop for everything at Sam’s Club when you’re not a member, we think being able to grab some cheap café fare and a few bottles of discounted wine doesn’t sound too shabby. Each store location may have varying enforcement procedures, so it's probably best to check your local store for details.
