Sarah Ferguson Sends "Thoughts and Prayers" to Kate Middleton Amid Her Cancer Diagnosis
Since Kate Middleton announced she was being treated for cancer, various royals have reached out to send their well wishes. The latest member of the family to share their reaction to the news was Sarah Ferguson, who has been undergoing treatment for a form of cancer herself.
In a post on Instagram this afternoon, Ferguson said: "All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment. I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome."
She continued, "As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness."
Ferguson concluded the message with, "I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal."
The social media message comes days after the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis after months of speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding her wellbeing and health. "This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," Kate said in a personal message on Friday, March 22.
She went on on to discuss how she told her children about her situation, how she's started preventative chemotherapy, and her plea for privacy: "We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery."
Ferguson revealed in January she was diagnosed with malignant skin cancer, just months after undergoing breast cancer treatment. The statement also came mere weeks before Buckingham Palace announced King Charles was also diagnosed with a form of cancer.
