Sarah Ferguson Shared a Touching Message to Kate Middleton Amid Her Own Cancer Diagnosis
Ferguson was recently diagnosed with skin and breast cancer.
King Charles and the royal family have shared words of support in the wake of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis, and Sarah Ferguson has joined in. The Duchess of York has a personal connection to Kate's experience with cancer, having battled both breast cancer and skin cancer herself. Ferguson revealed her skin cancer diagnosis in January of this year and shared her breast cancer in 2023.
In a notes-style message, Ferguson echoed the family and public's support of Kate, assuring everyone that Kate has the best team working with her and, more importantly, plenty of love and support.
"All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment," she wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. "I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family, and everyone is praying for the best outcome. As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal.”

Like Kate, Fergie is undergoing treatment for her cancer. Recently, she said that she was thankful that her skin cancer was not spreading.
"This is the best news she could have on it at this stage,” a friend told People. "She is very relieved."
And King Charles is also continuing to receive treatment for his own cancer battle. Over the weekend, family members shared that the monarch is "frustrated" that it's taking him so long to get healthy.
“He’s in good spirits,” Peter Phillips, Charles' nephew, said on Sky News Australia. “I think, ultimately, he’s hugely frustrated. He’s frustrated that he can’t get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he is very pragmatic, [and] he understands that there’s a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself.”
