SC has among the 10 best dog parks in the nation, USA Today says. Here’s where
Are you looking to include your pet in the summer festivities?
Let your dog explore South Carolina one dog park at a time.
Although your local community might have one, or several, of its own, USA Today recently released its rankings for the “10 Best” dog parks across the country.
As for if South Carolina made its place on the list, that’s no question.
USA Today cataloged The Dog Park at James Island County Park in Charleston as 6th on the list overall.
“James Island County Park is home to one of the best dog parks in Charleston, where pups have their choice of a dog beach, 4-acre grassy play area, and a fenced-in area for small breeds. Owners will find a washing station and waste stations within the park,” the publication detailed.
The community dog park features separate fenced-in sections for both small and large-size dogs with an additional large lake where your dog can swim and play on its own or with others.
It has amenities such as a dog washing area, water fountains, benches and nearby restroom facilities for their human counterparts.
The only day the parked is closed is from 7 - 9 a.m. on Wednesdays for routine maintenance.
To find more dog parks in your area, websites such as BringFido have ample options listed.
