New seafood restaurant opens in Lakewood Ranch with a ‘fresh twist’ on coastal casual
A family-run restaurant has opened at Lakewood Ranch’s Waterside Place.
The Deep Sea Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House recently opened at 1540 Lakefront Drive in Suites 100 and 101.
It marks the fifth Deep Sea Lagoon restaurant from the Phelan family, which also owns the Pinchers restaurant brand. The other locations are in Osprey, Fort Myers, Naples and Marco Island.
Phelan Family Brands started in 1997 in Bonita Springs with Pinchers Crab Shack. The Deep Lagoon concept began in 2016. Phelan Family Brands company owns 11 total branded restaurants.
The new restaurant in Lakewood Ranch features “a fresh twist on coastal casual,” according to the company’s website. Deep Sea Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with brunch starting at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Deep Sea Lagoon has four menus, one that is an all-day menu, another for gluten-free patrons, a light lunch menu served until 4 p.m. and a small plates/happy hour menu. Happy hour runs from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.
Some entrees include:
Grouper Oscar served over a bed of jasmine rice and topped with lump crab meat, hollandaise sauce, asparagus and bell pepper confetti
Hogfish Lagoon style prepared in white wine, garlic, pine nuts, tomato and basil
Chili rub Tripletail rubbed with sweet chili and secret spices topped with avocado salsa and served over yellow rice and asparagus
Fish and chips with either hogfish, tripletail or pollock as the fish portion
There’s a raw bar, too. And pasta and salads as a non-seafood option.

Side salads are $8, while regular salad sizes cost between $13 and $23
Entrees cost between $18 and $62
Pasta menu items are $22 to $24
Sandwiches and tacos range from $19 to $26
