See All the Red Carpet Arrivals At the 2024 SAG Awards
The stars came ready to shut the house down.
After a long year of striking, picketing, and negotiating, the SAG-AFTRA is getting back to fun tonight at the 2024 SAG Awards in Los Angeles. The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild awards, produced by Silent House Productions and SAG-AFTRA, is taking place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall and will celebrate the achievements of the film and television actors nominated tonight. Regardless of the SAG-AFTRA strike, it was a big year for box office behemoths like Barbie and Oppenheimer, which brought movie buffs back to the theater, and binge-worthy TV shows like Ted Lasso, Succession, The Last of Us, and Only Murders in the Building.
The stars came dressed for the part, trading their picket-line merch for grandiose gowns and sparkly numbers. From Margot Robbie in Schiaparelli to Anne Hathaway in a cerulean-blue Versace gown, the celebs brought fun and fashion to the storied red carpet.
The prestigious ceremony typically serves as a precursor to the Academy Awards, which take place on Mar. 8. Tonight's honorees include the stars of this year's biggest films like Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr. for Oppenheimer; the ensemble of Killers of the Flower Moon; Barbie's Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling; and Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri for their roles in the hit show The Bear. Despite her nod tonight, Robbie (in addition to Barbie's director Greta Gerwig) were left off the Oscar ballot, though her co-stars Gosling and America Ferrera are nominated next month.
Barbara Streisand is also slated to receive the 59th SAG Life Achievement Award during the show, which will be presented by nominee Jennifer Aniston (who is being recognized for her work on The Morning Show).
