Selena Gomez Reveals Her Favorite Childhood Treat (It Might Surprise You!)
When you think of your favorite treat from your childhood, chances are that you fondly remember a special cake you’d eat on your birthday or a family cookie recipe that your mom used to make. Or maybe you loved Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies and a scoop of ice cream on the side. Whatever your favorite nostalgic dessert may be, it probably isn’t the same one as Selena Gomez — and it probably isn’t pickle-flavored.
Gomez and her fiancé, Benny Blanco, recently appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to promote their new album, I Said I Love You First, and it wasn’t only their dreamy green-flag-filled romance that has the internet abuzz: It’s the revelation that Gomez’s favorite childhood treat is a snow cone covered with pickle brine served with chopped pickles on top. Yes, you read that right. And no, we’ve never heard of it either.
She explained that when she was a kid growing up in Texas, she used to visit a small snow cone shop where they knew her by name. All these years later, the snow cone shop still knows her favorite order, and now so do we.
To anyone who’s been a long-time fan of Gomez, this latest pickle development should come as no surprise. Gomez is a notorious pickle-lover, and during her Fallon appearance the host revealed that she even dips her popcorn in pickle juice. Does it sound as peculiar as a pickle snow cone? Most definitely. But we won’t knock it until we’ve tried it.
She has earned quite a reputation for herself as a foodie over the years, between her hit cooking shows Selena + Chef and Selena + Restaurant as well as her collaboration with beloved cookware brand Our Place. So if she says it’s delicious, then we’ll simply have to take her word for it. Unless, of course, you’re planning a pickle-filled trip to Texas any time soon.
