Thanks to the popularity of Instagram and TikTok, beauty influencers have never been more popular — or more influential. One such influencer changing the game is 25-year-old Hyram Yarbro, who has more than 4.5 million followers on YouTube and 7 million on TikTok.
Known for his brutally honest product reviews, it's no surprise that Yarbro recently launched his own brand, Selfless by Hyram, created in collaboration with The Inkey List. The five-product line is formulated with powerful ingredients but lower concentrations (such as 0.2% retinol and 0.5% salicylic acid) and includes a cleanser, moisturizer, retinol, and two types of serums.
As a beauty lover, I knew that I had to put the line to the test and see whether it's really all it's hyped up to be. Keep reading for my thoughts on all five Selfless by Hyram skincare products.
The Centella & Green Tea Hydrating Gel Cleanser is a gentle cleanser that won't damage the skin's moisture barriers. It is formulated with Centella and green tea to help calm the appearance of redness, sensitivity, and irritation while glycerin and Baltic black moss help the skin retain its moisture. As someone with dry skin, I usually prefer creamy formulas, but I was surprised at how this gel consistency didn't leave my skin parched.

This exfoliating serum was created to be mindful of people with the most sensitive skin, therefore it's not a physical exfoliant. It contains mandelic acid to accelerate removal of dead skin, PHA for an effective and gentle chemical exfoliation and salicylic acid to help unclog the appearance of pores. My skin wasn't acting up with this exfoliant, as is usually the case with others, so I'd say that it's truly is a gift for super sensitive skin.

In this serum, gentle retinol and nutrient-rich rainbow algae works overnight to reduce the appearance of post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation from breakouts while plumping and softening skin immediately after application. This retinol serum is great for retinol beginners as the concentration is low at 0.2%, so if you're not sure about retinol and want to dabble in it, this is a safe option. Just make sue to use SPF during the day if you're using retinol products, since they can cause photosensitivity.

This serum is a blend of salicylic acid, niacinamide, and succinic acid to target imperfections and unclog pores without irritating or drying the skin. If you want to get rid of blackheads, this is the serum for you. You can either apply this all over or use it as a spot treatment for targeted areas. It's an incredibly light texture and I love using this in summer as my skin tends to get more clogged up. My skin looks and feel clear after a few daily uses, however, I'd recommend that you either use this serum or the retinol serum — don't mix the two.

This nourishing yet lightweight gel-cream pairs niacinamide and maracujá for barrier support and even healthy-looking skin. This is one of my favourite products in the line, since it visibly minimizes oiliness and refines pores while also improving the appearance of damaged or weakened skin. The skin feels super smooth, and this moisturizer provides a light consistency that's ideal for summer days.
