Serena Williams Defends Taylor Swift After She’s Booed at the 2025 Super Bowl
While many were happy to see Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl, cheering on her boyfriend and Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce, the singer did receive a mixed reaction that has now gone viral. As she was shown on the Jumbotron camera, Swift was booed - the stadium, of course, was full of both Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles fans.

Swift realized the cameras were on her, took in the reaction, then appeared to laugh it off. The NFL shared the clip on its Instagram without sound:
But clips with audio were shared, too:

While social media had plenty to say about the moment, Serena Williams took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to defend Swift. 'I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!' Williams wrote. The tennis player was at the game and made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show.

During her December 2023 Time interview, Swift spoke about people being critical of her attending Kelce’s games. 'I’m just there to support Travis,' she said. 'I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.'
She marveled over how the cameras always manage to find her in the stadium. 'I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,' she said. 'There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.'
Swift has been attending Kelce’s home games this season. The Super Bowl was her first away game of the year.
