The world can be a trying place for the feminists climbing corporate ladders and trying to achieve life goals. We sometimes need a reminder to keep pressing our faces up against the glass ceiling until it breaks. The Shattered Glass Ceiling Necklace from Uncommon Goods is a perfect (and beautiful) reminder to keep kicking butt, and to keep going after what we want/deserve!

The Shattered Glass Ceiling Necklace displays a simple piece of real shattered glass (sandwiched between two unbroken pieces of glass), which symbolizes women obtaining their goals. The description of the necklace on the Uncommon Goods website reads,

“This symbolic necklace pays tribute to the accomplishments of empowered women everywhere.”

Carolyn Topp and Tiffany Jyang came up with the idea in order to help women feel empowered in their workplace. Jewelry designer, Jennifer Theokary, helped them come up with the pendant’s sleek-yet-powerful look.

“It reminds us that there’s still places that we can and need to go,” Topp said in an interview with INSIDER.

Each pane of glass is shattered by hand — a woman’s hand — which means each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind.

The round frame and chain are sterling silver and each necklace is handmade and assembled in Brooklyn, New York.
