Shenae Grimes-Beech is giving fans a "life update from the road."
On Thursday, the 32-year-old actress took to her Instagram story to share an honest message about motherhood, her husband, and how her RV trip is panning out.
The "90210" alum and her beau, Josh Beech, share a daughter, Bowie Scarlett, 3, and a son, 11-month-old Kingsley Taylor.
"For a second there I thought starting weaning days before taking off on a long haul RV trip was the worst idea I've ever had. Day one, I was so exhausted, I accidentally nursed in the middle of the night so day two, King was pissed when there was no midnight snack and cried while I rocked him for what seemed like forever," she wrote of her son's feeding progress. "He cried harder when he went to Josh but after an hour my arms felt like they were gonna fall off so without a word, Josh stood behind me, pressed his torso into my back to relieve the pain and slid his arms under mine to take the weight and King was none the wiser."
The actress explained how grateful she is for her husband during times of need, and how life is looking up after her disastrous night.
"I silently rocked and cried tears of relief, heartache, guilt and gratitude. To have a partner who just knows when I'm about to break and swoops in to carry me through, quite literally in this case, was just too much for my emotional, sleep-deprived self to contain," she continued. "After that hard night, I was having second thoughts about the whole trip, my upcoming movie project, weaning altogether. Then he settled in five minutes the next night and for two nights after he slept throughout the night. For the first time in his life!"
"Since then, he's woken up for one quick fuss in the night but after five-15 minutes of cuddles, he's back to sleep. We are down to one bedtime feed only. Waiting to tackle that until we're home but for now it feels like a win and we're all so much better off for it. Waking every 45-90 minutes all night, every night wasn't doing anyone any good," Grimes concluded.
The Grimes-Beech clan is currently on vacation in central Ontario's Muskoka region.
Earlier this week, the former "Degrassi: The Next Generation" star — who's originally from Toronto — shared an adorable photo with her son overlooking the Canadian waters. The duo posed in front of peaceful waters wearing matching green outfits.
"My boy, a Canadian lake and nowhere to be but right where we are. Don’t think it gets much better than this," she wrote.
