Shenae Grimes is feeling the love.

Over the weekend, the 32-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a series of photos alongside an emotional and heartfelt message for her son Kingsley's first birthday. Grimes and her beau, Josh Beech, also share a daughter, Bowie Scarlett, 3.

In the first snap, the Ottawa, Ont.-native tenderly cradled her son after she gave birth to him, followed by an adorable photo of the pair lying on a bed. The "90210" alum also shared an image of Kingsley with a wide, toothy grin, and a video of him riding on a bike.

"Happy Birthday to our King! I can’t believe my little dude turned one yesterday! You know I’m a sucker for a good heartfelt word vomit but…so many thoughts, so many emotions…I’m truly finding it difficult to process and express everything I’m feeling about this milestone," she began in the caption.

The former "Degrassi: Next Generation" star also explained how her family celebrated Kingsley's birthday, and noted how "grateful" she is to have him in her life.

"We spent yesterday celebrating the incredible tiny human who made our family whole. The sweet calm he entered the world with has been ramped up the a level 11 of energy this past year but the near-permanent smile he rocks, bops and crawls his way through life with has been plastered on his face since this first photo, taken just hours after he was born," Grimes penned. "The ease with which he entered the world is the same ease he entered our family and hearts...No matter what chaos or stress is going on around you, a smile from Kings puts the whole world on pause and reminds you how beautiful and easy life can be."

"So grateful for this boy, the most pleasant surprise of our lives, who gave us exactly what we didn’t know we were missing at exactly when we didn’t know we needed it. It’s been a whole year of enjoying him, basking in his light and watching him set the world on fire with that smile. Happy birthday, little lion man. The King of our hearts," she concluded.

In the comments, fans were quick to offer their birthday wishes and thanked Grimes for keeping it real when it comes to motherhood.

"Happy birthday, little one! Shenae, he is such a darling and I can tell you are so full of love," a follower told Grimes.

"He's so cute. I literally can't with all of these pics!" shared another.

"What a celebration indeed! But also, I love that you share your motherhood struggles on Instagram, it really makes me feel less alone on my motherhood journey," wrote someone else.

"One already? The time is flying! Happy birthday!" commented another fan.

Earlier this month, the actress took to her Instagram story to share an honest message about motherhood and her weaning journey with Kingsley.

"In other news, lots of folks asking about an update on the weaning sitch so here goes! We are down to a bedtime feed only but it's a quickie because my milk is nearly gone so I just end up rocking him to sleep, which has been the most emotional but finally empowering experience," she said. "I think we've turned a corner."

The star went on to explain how although the weaning process is looking up, it wasn't without its roadblocks.

"When we first started this gradual weaning journey, I felt guilty hearing him cry at all for the boob and helpless as I rocked and comforted him for what felt like forever without caving before he finally nodded off. I started to question the strength of our bond and whether or not I was doing the right thing at the right time. I even thought about pulling out of my upcoming movie project," she wrote. "But last night, he fed for two minutes, I closed up shop, he whimpered a bit and went off to sleep with no trouble. He is no longer fighting me to search for what's no longer offered. What a relief."
