Meghan Markle is ready to get to work.

Early Thursday morning, Kensington Palace announced that the Duchess of Sussex has been named patron to four organizations, two of which were passed on to her from Queen Elizabeth.

The Queen has named the Duchess patron of The National Theatre, fitting given the royal’s previous career in acting, as well as patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). In her new role, Markle will also help raise funds and awareness for animal welfare group Mayhew and Smart Works, an organization that helps women find successful employment.

Shortly after the announcement, the expectant royal made a surprise appearance to Smart Works headquarters to meet with some of the women who have benefitted from the organization and even played stylist to help women find the perfect look for reentering the work force.

Markle’s personal style was on display as she arrived wearing the $288 “Eliza Dress” by American maternity label, HATCH. The black crew neck knit dress was paired with a cotton-twill coat by Oscar de la Renta ($4,142) and a pair of earrings by British jewelry designer, Kimai ($534).

The classic look was offset by the royal’s eye catching “Plexi” cow print pumps by Gianvito Rossi that featured transparent panels (approx $1,079 CAD). The cow print has since been discontinued, but thanks to the Markle effect, we have the sneaking suspicion they’ll be back in no time!
