It’s hard to put the designation of “favorite” on any beauty brand, but I do have to say Kérastase is one of my favorite hair care brands. The products are chic, effective, and live up their promises and then some. I like the Blond Absolu and Curl Manifesto lines (I have bleached, curly hair) but those are kind of niche concerns. One of the French brand’s more popular lines is the hair-thickening and growing Densifique of which the Bain Densité Shampoo is the star.
Kérastase’s Densifique line is about stopping the cycle of breakage, shedding, and thus, thin hair—and instead ensuring denser, fuller, and longer strands. There are a total of four products: a serum, a treatment mousse, a conditioner, and a (the) shampoo.

If you make one upgrade to your haircare routine, I always recommend it be a shampoo—it’s the one step no one skips. The first step this shampoo takes is ridding your scalp of (in my case, probably years) dead cell and product buildup. It and your follicles are then better able to absorb all of the benefits coming via hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, and citric acid. The combination makes strands thicker, fuller, stronger, frizz-free, and softer—and thus, longer with less shedding and breakage.
The Bain Densité Shampoo is also available in a jumbo size and a refill pouch plus it has thousands of five-star ratings between the brand’s website and Amazon. A shopper with thinning hair due to a thyroid condition said it makes their “twice as thick and provides a lift at [their] roots.” Another shopper wrote, “my hair became fuller and thicker and my sparse spots disappeared” very soon after using this Kérastase shampoo. It even helps with bald spots, according to a few shoppers; one said, “I was starting to get a bald spot in the front of my hair and I was so insecure, but with this shampoo, my hair has grown back.” Lastly, I have never seen so many people gush over a shampoo’s scent, one shopper even said they would “buy it for the smell alone.”
